It is now 1 hour till boarding for my first flight – Sydney to Dubai and reality is setting in . Feeling of sadness , relief and excitement is setting in. Leaving family behind for such a long time will be the hardest thing and I'm so lucky that I have such a supportive wife and work mates to make this once in a life time assignment a possibility.
email below from Tom our facilitator who has been simply a inspirational sums up things very well and I hope he doesn't mind me sharing it.
I wish you enjoyable and very safe travels to Turkey. I hope you will find time en route for some quiet and stillness, so you can reflect on what you want to create for yourself, IBM and your hosts during your Corporate Service Corps experience. I wish you openness, curiosity and grace. I hope you find amazing opportunities to explore, discover and make a difference. Remember, the experience is what you make of it. Each day I wish you clarity and focus that you might choose the actions that will bring you the most joy and satisfaction. Be yourself, share your light and know that who you are and what you already know is enough to do great things.
It has been a privilege and an honor to work with you these past several months. I am proud that you are fellow members of the Corporate Service Corps. You have excelled individually and as a team, and I know you will excel even more in Turkey. You have prepared well and you are ready for this amazing experience. Cherish it, and make the most of it!
While you are in Turkey, I will be with you in spirit and following your blogs.
All the best ...

Wow- that was a beautiful and encouraging email from your facilitator. He shares a very important message in those words. I can't wait to chat with you when you get back on how you found it all!
ReplyDeleteJust a tip- to post a comment on your blog with your current security settings requires you to type in the anti-spam jumbled characters and numbers which I found, prevented a lot of people commenting on my blog (as well as the setting to sign in). I changed it so that anyone could comment and I had no issues with spam and my comments increased.
It is great to see what people are thinking when they read your blog so just thought I'd bring that to your attention :)
