Introduction

I'm writing this blog to record of my experiences as part the IBM Corporate Services Corp in Izmir, Turkey - the Turkey8 Team. I hope anyone who has found this enjoys reading about my experiences.  Expect pictures from here on rather then lot of writting ....

Firstly what is the IBM Corporate Service Corps?
The IBM Corporate Service Corps was formed in 2008 to provide IBMers with international leadership opportunities while solving problems for communities in emerging markets.  Think of it as the Peace Corps for business.  IBM sends its employees to volunteer for 4 weeks in an emerging market country.  The participants get an incredible experience working in a foreign country.  The host organization gets highly skilled volunteers. And IBM gets leaders trained in working with international teams and emerging markets as well as an enhanced reputation in those growth markets.

IBM Corporate Services Corp ( CSC) program is quite unique in that it delivers a triple benefit ;
  • high quality problem solving for communities/hosts
  • one of a kind leadership development for participants and enhanced reputation
  • and brand image and market knowledge for IBM.  CSC team plays a very important role in the development of IBM in the growth markets.
A huge Thank You to my management team for allowing me to participate in this program and to my peers and TIA team who will all be covering for me while I am on assignment.
